Masterclass Schedule

Arrival: July 29, 2025

  • Venue: Kirchenplatz 13, 19288 Ludwigslust
  • 9:00 AM–11:00 AM: Registration at the student office during this period

Departure: August 2, 2025

  • Approx. 5:00 PM after the final concert

Application

  • By applying, you agree to our terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before applying. These terms are for the smooth organization and execution of the application process and the masterclass.
  • Please send the documents via email to the IML organizing committee or register directly on the website.

✲ Upon registration, you will receive an “IML 2025” T-shirt (please specify size) and a souvenir.

✲ Host families are arranged based on availability.

The course fee includes the following services:

  • 3 lessons with piano accompaniment (arranged by the instructor)
  • Passive participation in all academy courses (as an auditor)
  • Admission to all concerts during the course period
  • Accommodation in a host family (for participants aged 16 and over)

✲ The selection of the concert performers for August 2nd will be made by the instructors.

Practice and House Rules

  • To offer optimal practice conditions for all IML participants, we request that each designated practice room be occupied for a maximum of 2 consecutive hours. Re-booking via the practice room lists is of course possible. Our wish is that this allows for a transparent and fair division of time for all of you.
  • The practice times are scheduled from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

    • Important Notes:
    • 🍷 Please bring your own drinking cup! (Eco-friendly reusable cups are recommended)
    • ⚠️ Due to limited capacity, we can serve all guests, but cannot guarantee all drink options will be available at all times. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes.

Accommodation

  • We offer all participants aged 16 and over free accommodation in host families. Acceptance of this offer is voluntary. Upon request, we can also assist in finding a hotel (costs to be borne by the participant).
  • Host Family Engagement: All hosts provide their homes out of interest in intercultural exchange, thereby supporting the international character of the academy. We appreciate their commitment and hope for mutual respect.
  • Host family accommodation subject to availability

House Rules for Host Family Stays

  1. No Visitors Rule: Bringing visitors (friends, family, etc.) to the host family’s home is not permitted. Requests for visits must be made exclusively through the academy office.
  2. Observe House Rules: The host family’s current house rules must be strictly followed.
  3. Visiting Hours:
    • Mutual visits between participants and host families require the consent of both households.
    • Nightly visits are expressly prohibited (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM).

Contractual Basis:

  • 🔒 Liability Disclaimer: Damages in host families are subject to the participant’s private liability insurance.
  • 📝 Arrival Procedure: Check-in only between 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM by prior arrangement.
  • 🔔 Quiet Hours: 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM (in noise-sensitive residential areas).
  • 🚭 No Smoking: In all indoor areas according to § 3 of the Non-Smoker Protection Act MV.

Meals

  • ▸ In principle, all participants are self-responsible for their own meals.
  • ▸ Host families may offer to provide meals at their own discretion.
  • Legal Notice:
    • This regulation corresponds to § 3 of the “Agreement on Host Family Stays”.
    • No right to use the kitchen (exception: separate written agreement).
  • Hygiene regulations according to LFGB §5 must be observed by participants.
  • Shopping options near the school:
    • An Edeka supermarket is located about 100 meters from the school.
    • A Penny supermarket is about 300 meters from the school.
    • Snacks and drinks can be purchased in both supermarkets.

Cancellation Policy for the Masterclass

  • Up to 8 days before the course begins: The application fee of €30.00 will be retained. The course fee of €390.00 will be refunded.
  • From 7 days before the course begins to the day of the course: The application fee of €30.00 will be retained. A cancellation fee of €100.00 will be deducted from the course fee. The remaining amount of €290.00 will be refunded.

General House Rules (at the County Music School)

We are guests at the Ludwigslust County Music School. Therefore, we kindly ask you to strictly observe the following rules from the school administration, which should be self-evident for everyone:

  • all premises, including the hallways, are to be kept clean and tidy. This means, for example, no eating, smoking, or consuming alcohol in the rooms.
  • please maintain cleanliness, do not place any objects on the instruments located in the rooms.
  • please do not leave any personal valuables in the rooms.
  • when leaving the room, please close the windows and turn off the lights. As the last user, please lock the door.

Expulsion from the Academy

  • All participants are required to strictly follow the instructions of the academy staff. We strive for a respectful environment that allows all artists, participants, and concert attendees to have a unique IML experience. In the last 3 years of the academy, no participant has had to be expelled – and we want to keep it that way.
  • Grounds for Expulsion (§ 4 Participation Agreement):
    1. 🔸 Complaint from the host family or withdrawal of accommodation
    2. 🔸 Alcohol consumption by minors on the festival grounds (§ 9 JuSchG)
    3. 🔸 Theft in host families or festival facilities (§ 242 StGB)
    4. 🔸 Intentional damage to practice room facilities (§ 303 StGB)
    5. 🔸 Nightly visits to other participants in host families (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM)

Legal Consequences of Expulsion:

  • ▸ Expulsion from all academy activities with immediate effect
  • ▸ Forfeiture of the course fee (§ 326 Abs. 1 BGB)
  • ▸ Participant bears all costs for return travel and accommodation
  • ▸ Obligation to vacate the accommodation within 24 hours

Granting of Usage Rights

  • Hansa Kultur GmbH will create photo, audio, and video recordings of all participants during the entire masterclass week (July 29 to August 2, 2025).
  • Legally Binding Consent (§ 22 KUG, § 31 UrhG):
    • ▸ All participants irrevocably grant Hansa Kultur GmbH and the INTERNATIONAL MUSIC ACADEMY LUDWIGSLUST the free right to use the recordings.
    • ▸ This includes, in particular, use in: promotional materials (flyers/postcards), digital media (websites/social networks), print publications (posters/brochures), documentaries, and promotional films.
  • Scope of Rights (§ 31a UrhG):
    • ▶ Spatially: Worldwide
    • ▶ Temporally: Indefinite
    • ▶ Content-wise: All known and future types of use

Data Protection Notice

  • • 📄 Right of Revocation: Written revocation is possible up to 14 days after the recording is made.
  • • 🆔 Right to Information: You can request to view your stored image material at any time via info@iml-hk.de.
  • • 🚫 Right to Deletion: If the purpose of use no longer applies, according to Art. 17 GDPR.
